At MRA we support local charities that have a direct impact on the quality of healthcare and quality of life in our community.  Here are just a few of the ways that MRA is giving back to the community.

Opera Carolina is committed to enriching citizens from all walks of life by producing Opera performances and educational programs in the community.

Riding Against Cancer

Riding Against Cancer is a group that raises money to provide mammograms to women that cannot afford them. They host many events throughout the year in the Salisbury area.

Colon Cancer Coalition

Get Your Rear in Gear

Last year the Coalition granted out over $100,000 to the Charlotte Community. This event supports patients and their families with colorectal cancer, helps to remove barriers for screenings, supports research, develops educational programs for screening, detection, and treatment for colorectal cancer. American Cancer Society

MRA is supporting the American Cancer Society’s mission as they provide research, education, and help patients and their loved ones who are diagnosed with cancer.

Caroline’s Corner

Caroline’s Corner has partnered with Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center Foundation to honor Caroline Comly the daughter of John and Ginny Comly. Plans are in place to create a private and peaceful area for pediatric patients’ families as their children battle difficult odds. This will assist the families as they can focus on their child’s healing and recovery

Crisis Assistance Ministry

The mission of the Crisis Assistance Ministry is to assist people in Mecklenburg County who are in financial crisis and help them to move towards self-sufficiency. The financial support covers the need for emergency rent, utilities, furniture, appliances, and clothing.

Charlotte Samaritan House

The Samaritan House in Charlotte, NC is a place for recuperative care for those who are homeless and in need of short term care.

Hemby Children’s Hospital

MRA bought toys for the holidays for children at the Novant Health Hemby Children’s Hospital. The pediatric hospital is always in need of assisting children who are in the hospital especially when they experience difficulty during an exam, are emergency room patients, or have to celebrate a birthday when in the hospital.

Loaves & Fishes

Loaves and Fishes provide groceries for neighbors in need that are located throughout Mecklenburg County, NC. Their mission is to provide nutritionally balanced groceries to individuals and families in Charlotte-Mecklenburg who are in a short-term crisis.

Lung Force

Lung Cancer is the #1 cancer killer of both men and women in the United States. Lung Force unites women and their loved ones to stand together to raise awareness of lung cancer. In women, lung cancer cases have increased by 87% in the last 41 years whereas in men lung cancer has fallen by 35%.
